How Safe is Hormone Therapy?

A lot of patients ask us about the safety of hormone replacement therapy. It’s a fair question. After all, hormone replacement can be a big decision. We’d like to put your fears to rest.

Every HealthGains HRT plan is monitored by a board certified physician who specializes in preventive and regenerative medicine. We never prescribe more than the necessary dosages to get your hormones levels back on track.

Most importantly, we use only bio-identical hormones. These hormones, which have the same molecular structure as those made naturally by your body, are safer than synthetic hormones or those derived from animal sources.

What About Side Effects?

Any medical program comes with risks - and that includes hormone therapy. Fortunately, the risks associated with hormone replacement are small. There is a very tiny chance you might experience side effects while undergoing your HRT plan; less than 5% of our patients report side effects during treatment.

The majority of the side effects experienced during our plans are due to unhealthy lifestyle choices. It’s crucial that you make wise choices while on a treatment plan: minimize alcohol intake, exercise regularly and eat right. We will also adjust your medication dosage if needed; your doctor will review any side effects and determine the right course of action. Almost all side effects are reversible once the appropriate chances are made to your plan.

We also have a Medical Advisory Board in place to regularly review our protocols and procedures. Staying up-to-date on the latest anti-aging and HRT developments lets us provide you with exceptional patient care. Our medical professionals are members of various prestigious medical organizations such as the Endocrine Society.
